Greg Zimmerman - Owner

For most of his life, Greg Zimmerman has been working in the family business. As a child, Greg followed his dad, company founder Milton Zimmerman, to the job sites. When he was 10 years old, he began mowing yards and shoveling snow at his family’s apartment buildings. In his teens, he began working summers full-time for Zimmerman Construction. Upon Milton’s retirement in 1979, Greg acquired the company and continues to offer only the highest degree of professional work and service.

Greg has been directly involved in developing a number of neighborhoods around the region. In Bellevue, these include Brinker Street, Shumaker Drive, Douglas Drive, and Gregory Court. In Clyde, he developed East Thompson, East Drew, and Zimmerman Drive. In Sandusky, he developed Bogart Road, and in Huron, he developed Bayberry Court.

Greg is an active member of the Ohio Home Builders Association (OHBA), the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce, the North Coast Building Industry Association (NCBIA), and the Erie County Chamber of Commerce. He served as past president of the Erie County Home Builders Association and currently serves on the board of directors. In addition, Greg is a member of Remodelers Advantage, a networking group of remodelers from all across the United States, along with the Mastermind group of remodelers on the East Coast. He attends numerous seminars and trade shows each year. Greg and his family are active in their church and community.

Greg Zimmerman recently joined a select group of professional builders, remodelers, and other industry professionals when he was designated as a Certified Green Professional™ (CGP) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). He is now the only CGP in the greater Sandusky area. Courses include training on how green homes provide buyers with lower energy costs and higher value, as well as strategies for incorporating green-building principles into homes without driving up the cost of construction. He also holds NAHB certifications in CAPS (Certified Aging in Place) and RAM (Registered Apartment Management).

In 2013, Greg was one of 36 small business owners from throughout Ohio to graduate from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses classes, which is a $500 million initiative to unlock the growth and job-creation potential of small businesses across the United States by providing greater access to business education, financial capital, and business support services.

Dennis also manages the company’s safety program.
